26th Feb 2009

Say hello to Zoo!! It was 8 years ago when i last visited the Zoo and that was just a school camp!
We set off around 8am! Took mrt to amk and took 138 which takes us all the way to the zoooo..
there's this potato shop at amk hub that sells really nice baked potato. check that out.

I felt really excited as the bus was approaching and i saw those big billboard-looking boards that featured a new animal show. It's linked with saving the forest, saving the animals! (talking about that, i just remembered i forgotten to take photos of the animal shows. -_- nvm. it's locked in my mind!)

As we walked into the entrance of the zoo, we were told to stand in front of some trees to do three poses;
1) big smile!
2) thumbs up sign!
3) a big hug (with whoever you're with of course)
We did all those and were given a coupon to view our photos later and it's up to us if we wanna buy it.

It was really nice to be looking at our map, checking out the 'map-stand' after the entrance, and planning out our route to make the best out of the time so as to not miss any of the animal shows together :)

And so we did. We didnt miss out any shows! :D
One of the shows was the one i was talking about; the saving forest/animal show. I liked that one as i has got some tribal element to it. The people were doing tribal dance and all. NICE!!
We were lucky enough to be watch it with a bunch of international kids who were really enthu and did the necessary effects to enhance the show. HAHA! hor, bi shi?

Saw all the animals that we were looking forward to :)
It's really different seeing the real thing to those on tv/posters.
The size alone makes you feel so small.

Started to rain and thank God we were near a open hut so we took shelter there. Even fell asleep there! hahaha.. Decided to take the tram (u gotta pay $5 per person to take that, not included in the entrance fee) to just tour around the zoo sitting down under shelter some more. After the first round, we fell asleep on the tram for the next 2,3 rounds! Lol.

Went to a place call KidzWorld and it was like a mini wild wild wet with different obstacle courses. Many ang-moh kids! B&J's-ed there. There was also this kampong-inspired house there for .. im not sure what. I think it's to introduce kids to what their great grandmothers lived in. Wax-figured humans were inside. They look really creepy. Really. and the fake cockroaches/fleas/woodlices are super big.

[i like elephants, they are strong man..]

[first time a butterfly ever landed on my hand! it flew willingly from ky's hand!]

[this donkey kept nibbling on his fingers! it's really friendly]

[an meng will forever live in our hearts..]
[this is a torture machine. HAHA]
[meet Buddy! a horse that prefers girls.]

[they walk around you like u dont exist]

[check out their sitting positions]

[they just happened to be like that when we got to them! very cute. they always move together.]

[random, i know. but he looks cute.]
